Following graduation from
Ithaca College with honors in finance, Chris
worked in corporate finance at Fleet Bank
Corporate Banking. While there, he was focused
on capital raising assignments for middle-market
private and public companies. After that,
Chris joined Elias Asset Management where
he identified investment opportunities for
a $550 million portfolio and monitored existing
portfolio companies.
Chris also worked for
Bear, Stearns Investment Banking, where
he served on a team that executed merger
and acquisition, strategic advisory, restructuring
and equity financing transactions in the
technology, telecommunications, health care
and consumer product industries.
Chris’ corporate
finance experience extends across all forms
of financing (venture, leveraged, mezzanine,
IPOs), transactions (M&A, restructuring),
and involves multiple industry groups.
Chris joined Trillium
Group in June 2000 following graduation
from the M.B.A. program at the Simon School
of Business at the University of Rochester.
Through Trillium, he has
served in key leadership positions at several
technology companies. Chris served as the
CEO of VirtualScopics,
LLC, a University of Rochester Medical Center
spinout. During his period of leadership,
Chris guided the company from formation
and through product development, multiple
rounds of venture financing, staff recruitment,
business development, and alliance relationships.
His tenure at VirtualScopics
culminated with a strategic investment and
multi-year R&D alliance with Pfizer
Global Pharmaceuticals. VirtualScopics
is recognized as a leader in image-based
technology for use in drug discovery and
development.
Following VirtualScopics,
Chris became CEO of Appairent
Technologies, Inc., a wireless communications
company and Kodak spinoff.
He is a member of the
board of directors of Northern
Safety Company, ViaHealth and Verant
Identification Systems.
